"It's not Valentine's Day without Bacon."

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
I want to be with you
Blood is Red
Bruises are Blue
Don't say, "No."
...
Before we get to Valentine's Day. I just want to say..
Hahahahaha! The Ravens beat San Fran! Wooooooooot! Just another peice of evidence to show that the East is way better than the West.
Ok. Now that that is out is of my system...
Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day is actually a very special day in particular to Brian and I. Not only is it a day to celebrate our relationship. But, it holds a lot of really great memories.
2 1/2 years ago. A very bold Brian, decided to text a girl he liked the day before Valentine's Day. He had just gotten back from his mission and wanted to make sure he spent that day of love with a girl and not a man.
The girl (me) got his message at approximately 11 AM. She decided to be a deuce and not text him back until 10 PM.
Luckily, he hadn't asked anyone else. So he was still available.
She wore a red, white and black outfit and bought red shoes to match for the occassion.
He bought her flowers and took her out for Sushi.
Brian and I had been going on dates for 5 or 6 months... But it was the day before Valentine's Day in 2011, that I knew Brian actually really liked me. After a well designed and thought out Power Point presentation, that I made with cue cards and pictures... Brian was a little afraid of commitment...
Brian consented to dating me exclusively 6 days later.
His life was never the same. Poor Kid...
What did he ever do to deserve this?
;)
This Valentines Day, our first being married to each other, was really great. I had school all day, while Brian's got cancelled. Brian and I made each other a wonderful breakfast: Orange Juice, Waffles, Parfaits, Eggs, Toast and Heart-Shaped Bacon.
As Ron Swanson would say, "It's not Valentine's Day without bacon."
What a wise man.
I went to school ALL DAY LONG! When I got home I was surprised by a HEART ATTACK!!!

I had never been Heart Attacked before so it was really fun and totally unexpected. Each heart had a little note or thing that he loves about me. Here are a few that made me laugh.

In case you can't read his handwriting, the above says:
Just so you know, I'm not cleaning this up!
Below, it says:
Don't take a picture of this and post in on Facebook!

For the record, I didn't post it one Facebook... but I did post it on this blog.
Don't tell him.

For Valentines Day, I got Brian some chocolates and some new shoes.
I also made him the greatest Valentine's Day card of all freaking time.

Um.Yeah.
Do you feel like you suck?
You should.
Just try to compete with that.
Since we were so busy... waaaaa!
We celebrated Valentine's Day later on that week.
On Saturday, I used one of my date coupons from last Valentine's Day to go to Color Me Mine.
It was so much fun. I made little mustache cups.
Brian made a super manly mustache bowl that he has informed me I am not allowed to eat
out of. I would fight him on this, but he normally does the dishes...
so he is more entitled to claiming dishware than I am.
:-{)
(Nope, your eyes do not deceive you. That my friend is a mustached-face emoticon.)
I'll even let you tell your friends that you came up with it on your own.
People will think, "Wow! They're so innovative."
But you & i... we'll know the truth.

Us with our masterpeices pre-glaze.

Us with our masterpeices post-glaze.

I love Valentine's Day.
(I hope you do too.)
I love my life.
(I hope you do too.)
I love my husband.
(You shouldn't cause that would be weird and I'll cut you.)

Have a Fabulous Day. Until next time, Loves!

New Year. New York.

Sorry for the delay in our posts.
I know you have been dying of anticipation to know exactly what we have been up too...

In January we were fortunate enough to fly back East and spend a wonderful 12 days with my family and friends. When we landed in New York, the pilot got on the overhead and told us, "It is currently 9:06 AM. The weather in syracuse is cloudy with an 80% chance of precipitation. It is currenlly -10 degrees." My immediate thought was, "Why are we HERE?!?"

Our whole trip looked like this.
But it was great.
Our lives have been so absolutely chaotic lately.
We both go to school full time.
We both work full time.
I work weekends, he doesn't.
Any minute we have to spare is spent trying to catch up.
It is exhausting.

Case and Point = That type of vacation is exactly what we needed.

My mother, the sweetheart (or lazy bum) that she is kept her Christmas decorations up so that we could celebrate Christmas with them. I got so many great things. I will be baking and cooking until the end of time using all the nifty things they got me.

For instance, My parents got me a Wok. I made a delicious stir fry with it in celebration of Chinese New Year... and The Walking Dead. Absolutely not correlated, but day was officially complete!

We slept in. We went to the mall a lot. I only bought one pair of beautiful heels. I was so proud of myself for not going on a shopping spree. Brian's wallet was pretty happy about that too :) We went out to dinner a lot with my family. We went to Moe's. It is my mom and dad's favorite place. It's kind of like Cafe Rio, but they just serve burritos.

Us in front of Jeffrey's favorite Restuaraunt, Johnny's Rocket.... LOL!

My Parent's took our whole family to this super awesome place on the last day we were there. It was super delicious and absolutely beautiful on the inside. I really liked it and Brian said he definitely wants to go there again.

My mom and I also cooked a lot. Brian and I cooked Salmon and Steak for my family. We ate that on our family's mock Christmas Eve. My dad even tried the Salmon even though it is fish! Truly a (Delayed) Christmas Miracle.

Every night, Anthony would come home super late. Either from working or hanging out at Jordan's house. We would stay up with him and watch a movie or a show. It was so relaxing to unwind and know you didn't have to go anywhere the next morning. Also, Anthony likes some pretty lame movies, so it was fun to make fun of the movies he chose. They all rated less than 11% on Rotten Tomatoes... Haha!

While I was on my trip I was able to see two of my best friends.

Rachel has been going to Nursing school for the past year. When I told her I was coming and when, we learned that I would be there for her graduation. I was so ridiculously excited and thrilled for her and to be there. She has worked super hard and I'm so very excited for this new chapter in her life. She is seriously, the sweetest and most caring person I know, she is going to be a great nurse.

Oh! and I got to see my handsome boyfriend, Joey!!

I also got to spend time Kaitlyn. She is such a riot! She is going through a very exciting time in her life. I am very grateful that I was able to spend time with her and share some very special moments with her. On the last day I was there, we went to the Farmer's Market and she came with us. We probably spent $50 on their .50 cent treats. They were so freaking delish!

Going on this trip reminded me that I need to be better about staying in touch with people. I have been so blessed to have such great friends.

I also learned that I'm glad I don't live in Syracuse because I would go to the Geddes Bakery WAYYY too much and get fat!

Cannolis are my weakness.

I was also super happy to get a chance to spend time with my grandparents. They weren't feeling well at the beginning of my trip so I was worried we wouldn't get to see them. But, they pulled through and my grandma even helped me pack. I wish I would have gotten a picture with my Grandpa :(

The last day we were there I told Brian I wouldn't be joining him. I really love being with my friends and family. I really love being on vacation!

Why must vacations end?!

Probably because your mom starts to drive you crazy... Just Kidding!

oh hey there, 2013.

You can't have Christmas without the fattest Christmas Kitty, Tatum.

We hope that you were able to enjoy the holiday season with your loved ones. It can be super tough to get back into the swing of things after so many exciting occasions happening all at once.

I am sad and yet a bit relieved that the holidays are over.

But we did have a great one!

Brian took me on a really fun date to see the lights at Temple Square. We went on one of the busiest and coldest nights. It was a lot of fun. I'm really glad we were able to do it again this year and keep up our tradition. Afterwards, we attempted to drive home but got stuck in a storm. We had to get off the highway... luckily at the exit with the Cheesecake Factory. So we ate dinner and hung out there until around midnight when the highway had cleared up.

We watched a lot of holiday movies and made a lot of holiday treats. One of my favorite nights is when we made gingerbread cookies and watched Home Alone. Brian made this super sweet gingerbread 'stashe.

Another one of our favorite traditions is going to see, 'A Christmas Carol' at the Orem Hale Centre Theatre. We went last year with Brian's parents and it was supposed to become a Campbell Family Tradition... but they bailed. (We'll try to forget about it, lol!) It was a ton of fun. I made an old lady friend (as we always do at these types of occasions. We are friendly old people magnets, which I love.) We also have some inside jokes from this night that I hope we'll never forget. I'd write them... but you wouldn't understand.. and they probably aren't very funny to anyone else other than ourselves....

I wish it had been just an ounce bit lighter in there... it's the only picture we have of us that night.

Ok. So Brian and I kind of got on this crazy "holiday traditions" binge.
Neither one of us had ever been to the lights at Thanksgiving Point... So we thought, "why not?!"

We went up there, paid for it, started driving around, even took a few pictures before noticing that our heater had stopped working.
"hmm... odd."

All of a sudden our car started smoking and overheating! We couldn't pull over for the longest time all the while driving behind super slow people who were simply trying to enjoy the Christmas Lights.

Little did they know that Brian and I were in a
PANIC

All I kept thinking was let's get the heck out of here, I just want to go home. And I mean... Thanksgiving Point is quite a bit aways from Orem. So I had every right to be anxious.

We finally got out. Went to a gas station and put coolant in our car (as we were empty) hoping that would be the problem and fix it. It worked for awhile. We had to stop 5 times on the way home.. but we made it.

Seriously, a blessing.

Double Blessing? Sure. I'll take one. A friend of Brian's family owns a shop and did all the work to fix it in less than 2 hours and it was like $200.

Seriously, a Christmas Miracle.

While we were waiting for our car to get finished. We used one of our fabulous gift cards to go to Red Lobster.

It was the bomb.com

While were sitting there and enjoying our food. Brian looked over to see this little red fish staring at him. I thought "oh, how cute." Than I came over to see it..

Freaking Devil Fish of the Aquarium staring into the depths of Brian's soul.

I named it Luci
...

it's short for Lucifer.

For Christmas Eve, I decided to continue a tradition that my mom had always done for me when I was growing up. I wrapped up a Christmas box that contained:

Christmas Pajamas
Hot Cocoa Packets
Funny Christmas mug (upside down santa is Brian's)
Popcorn and a
Movie

My coworker (Jess) gave me the adorable Owl Mug.
Brian always pokes fun at my obsession with owls..
But seriously they are so cute!

Brian modeling his pajamas.

The next morning, Brian duplicated the breakfast he had made me a year ago.
Christmas is very special to us as it is the time that Brian proposed.

He made me super yummy waffles, eggs, bacon and fruit.
He always makes sure everything is aesthetically pleasing
*note* the "fireplace

:D

Here is our tree. So preeeeeeeety!

*note* owl in the tree

his name is Hooters and I love him.

I found Anthony at my Abuela's house. LOL!

After dinner when everything was starting to settle down, Brian and I got my "nephew" Jayden (he is 6) and built an entire alien nation out of play doh. It was a lot of fun and he loved it.

The saddest part about this holiday season is that we had to say "goodbye" to the little children in our class as they are moving up to CTR 5-6. We will miss them terribly. They are such little stinkers. I told them they better all give me hugs every Sunday and NEVER forget me!

We are really excited for what the New Year has in store for us.
We have a lot of aspirations and goals that we would like to fulfill by this time next year.
I guess we'll all just have to 'stay tuned' to see what actually unfolds!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Hello Everyone!

Brian and I are just about ready to start having lives again.

In other words, we won't be going to school soon for 1 ENTIRE MONTH!

We both still have to take one more final each.

I can honestly say I have never been more excited for anything in my entire life. (However, I'm sure that statement will change in April when Brian graduates!)

We Have been so anxious for Christmas.  I love cuddling up on the couch with the Christmas tree lights on, a blanket and some hot chocolate. Seriously, nothing says Christmas more than that.

I really love the holiday season. Everyone is running around trying to find the perfect gift that says "I love you." and "You're special to me." I have really been able to see this first hand working in a jewelry store these past few weeks. Those poor guys and what us girls put them through.. They try so hard to find something that we will really love.

We have had ourselves a few "Christmas Miracles" this past week. Sarah (Brian's sister) and her family moved back to Utah after living in Paris for about 5 months. I think Christmas without children is sad and super weird, So I'm super stoked they are back. Also, my cousins from Hawaii moved back today. They had been living in Hawaii for about a year and a half. They bring such energy and life to our family (to those of you who know my family, you know we aren't really lacking in that department.. we're super loud and fun. But seriously, the more the merrier right?)

Brian and I have literally thrown ourselves into the holidays by participating in a bunch of holiday activities. We put up our tree and decorated TWO WEEKS before Christmas. Yup, not ashamed. We spent countless hours finding the most perfect songs for our grooveshark Christmas playlist. We listen to it almost every day. We threw a Christmas party the other night which was a lot of fun. (Pictures further below.) We have gone ugly Christmas decoration hunting. Taken our awkward Christmas photo as well as made some christmas cards that we have yet to send out. (I should probably get on that...) I painted my nails to look like Candy Canes. Brian also planned a super fun Winter date for us the other night that was incredibly cute and thoughtful. We have a ton more planned for the upcoming weeks, and we still have to get pretty much all of our shopping done... But it's been fun.

This is my first Christmas away from my parents and brother. My first Christmas since I was 3, not going home to New York. Needless to say, sometimes I get a little down in the dumps and depressed about it. But then I remember that this will be my first Christmas with my husband and that brightens my spirits.

I hope you guys are being safe and fun this holiday season. Probably won't post again until after Christmas. So until then, enjoy the pictures!

This is the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Bear.
I always tease my dad and say that this stuffed bear looks like him..

Case and Point: I guess I'll be spending Christmas with my dad after all!!!

This is the awkward Christmas card we made for our 2nd Annual Awkward Christmas Party

Some Pictures from our winter date that Brian planned all by himself. It was a blast!

Most of the guests from our party. Some other left before we took this, some got cut out of the picture (Sorry Megan & Adam and Chase & Emily and Ben!!!) and some came afterwards (sorry Karissa and Jewels!)

I should've taken some pictures of the food but I totally forgot. But for those who care (basically just my mother... lol!) I made a pomegranate cranberry punch, chocolate truffles, kettle corn, jalepeno poppers, a feta cheese and dried cherry salad, chocolate chip cookies, and cinnamon rolls. There was also a ton of finger foods like pretzels and the like. Anyways, there you go (MOM!)

Thanksgiving two-timers

I don't know what I was thinking but a week before Thanksgiving, I decided it would be a great idea to get my Wisdom Teeth extracted... stupid idea.

Brian told me I said a lot of funny things coming off the anesthesia.

I guess I have a lot of angst and hatred towards the Groundhog's Day groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil.. Brian said I was like,

"I hate that guy. He just likes to mess with people and make them think that Winter's going to be over... but you know what?!? It never is! We should just kill him!"

Just look at that scheming, manipulative and ugly face!!!

It was kind of frustrating to eat Thanksgiving dinner, but I got to eat everything I wanted to at a slower pace. Luckily, a lot of my favorite Thanksgiving foods are soft anyways. Oh! And they let me keep my teeth. Pretty Cool.

This Thanksgiving was pretty crazy for us. We have a lot of family here and we want to be sure that we spend time with all of them on the holidays. Families are what is really important after all! We started off our day by going to my brother and sister-in-laws house for a brunch. Afterwards, we came home and made some food preparations and headed over to my cousin's home in Herriman, Utah. They had their Thanksgiving feast at around 2 o'clock. We stayed there for about three hours and than made the drive back to Orem so we could have dinner with Brian's family at 7 o'clock. Needless to say we ate a lot that day. Afterwards, Brian and I came home. Brian had to do some homework and I went right to bed...

Oh, How I used to love Black Friday back in the day when I didn't have to work Black Friday!

I miss those times.

This blog is really short, but I just wanted to end by saying a few things that I am grateful for:

1. my loving family.
2. my sweet friends.
3. my opportunity to gain an education.
4. my job.
5. my home.
6. a loving God that watches over and protects me, my family and friends.
7. my husband.

who made one of the biggest sacrifices a man could make. he gave into my pleads and ended Mo'vember early. I seriously just couldn't take the beard, or should I say, "little rodent" growing on his face any longer..

Possibly because it reminded me of the groundhog I subconsciencely hate so much???

BEFORE

Imagine having to wake up to the above every morning.
Have you imagined it?
...
Frightening, wasn't it?

:o

AFTER

There's the man I know and love. He was just being buried alive in ugly beard before.
He has been shaved saved!!

8)

I hope this holiday season finds you well. Brian and I have kicked the season off early by decorating our home for Christmas... a week ago. :) Also, Last night we made gingerbread men, drank hot chocolate and watched Home Alone.

We are so ready.
