Yes, I, Rachelle went out into nature.. and survived!

Just a few things to quickly write before I pick up my little cousin/neice (it's confusing I know!) up from her dance class.

The other day I

YES I! If you can believe it..

no?!?

well neither can I...

suggested to Brian that we went on a small hike up Battlecreek falls.

I know, crazy right?

It was really fun, I would do it again.

Utah has been having a ton of forest fires lately. Here is a picture taken from our street of the forest fire across the lake by our house.

I'll Take You Back to the Start

I am trying to slowly wean myself from facebook, but I needed another outlet to keep in touch with my friends and family. So, we'll give blogging a shot!

 "How is married life?"

-well besides that (forever)  annoying question, being married is really pretty awesome. Our wedding day was so special to us. We were able to catch up with many friends and family we had not seen in quite some time. I have never danced so much in my entire life than I did at our reception. Brian and I happily anticipate our 2nd reception coming up in Syracuse, NY.

One of my favorites outside that day

I love this picture of my bouquet                    I like how happy we are

Brian and his posse of men
Myself, with my posse of ladies
                                                              Our little ring ceremony
                                                                   Close up of our rings
Our cake. Bottom layer was chocolate, middle vanilla and top was carrot.
My mom and I

                                                                    My dad and I

The two most mishevious and hilarious men in my life
As Karissa said it, "You two look so in love." I agree.
Lastly, of course I had to put up the photograph everyone has loved and commented on thusfar.
One of my friends said she'd like to use it in an ad she will need to make in the upcoming month for a local bridal magazine. We'll see what happens!

"So what's new?"

- My aunt, Daisy, graciously opened her studio apartment to Brian and I for about 10 days while we waited to move into our new home. It is a cute little duplex that is only comprised of the basic four rooms. We at first, thought it would be too tiny after the furniture was moved in. However, we have been surprised by how spacious it is ( for just two people).

Brian putting together some furniture that we got for our house. What a guy!

The people in our neighborhood refer to our humble abode as the "loveshack" since it is typically occupied by newlywed couples. We really enjoy the neighborhood we are living in. The people are very friendly and right down the street is a cute little park that Brian and I take our new baby..

no not an actual baby.
not even a puppy or animal of any sort.***

I'm talking about Brian's newest toy - his scooter. His "true love."

In other news, Brian and I were recently given a church calling to teach the 4-5 year olds. At first, we thought it would be hard to entertain them for an hour on our own, but we have been pleasantly surprised how fun and fast church is now. I love these little people. They are so cute and smart and funny. The first week we went on a treasure hunt, and last week we helped them make Father's Day presents.

Brian has been battling a bout of cabin fever. I said, "Enough of that!" and we quickly planned a short trip to Vegas. We stayed at our favorite hotel off the strip that bakes warm cookies for their guests (our favorite part) and went out on the town. However, I think I enjoy Vegas more during the day. We went to the Venetian and contemplated going on a Gondola ride... than backed out because I don't think I could've dealt with echoey Gondola singers for an entire ride! We did a bit of shopping and art gallery looking- There was this one painter, oh man! I can't remember her name, but she did hysterical satire work. I literally wanted to buy them all! We ate at the Paris, in one of their little cafes. While Vegas was great and everything, my favorite part was just riding in the car with Brian singing goofy songs like the Backstreet Boys and bluegrass and creating inside jokes we will always remember. I always thought I hated road trips.. but they're not so bad after all.

Brian and I also took a ride around the Alpine loop. This was Brian's baby step attempt to get me to enjoy being in nature, while being in the "safety and comfort" of our own car. I branched out a little bit by letting him stop the car so we could explore. It was pretty fun and I was getting into it, when suddenly I was chased by an angry black bee and ran away only to stop while standing on a freshly shed snake skin. Needless to say, Brian's attempt may have failed- this time.

This is where the angry black bee chased me lol!

I like being married because your spouse is pretty much stuck with you so you can pretty much be just as weird and as goofy as you want to, and your spouse can only think to themselves, "Oh boy, what have I gotten myself into?!?" So here are some new looks the both of us having been testing out as of late...

Oh! Lastly, the asterisks you may have noticed was to remind me to tell you about a puppy Brian and I got and kept for not even a day. He was a cute little Maltese pup, we named him Zeus. But Brian was too allergic and I was getting exhausted watching him run and play all over the place. So, we returned him later that night. We were both so sad to see him go. However, I think it only confirmed that we aren't quite ready for little guys of any species canine or human. ;)

Our little guy, if only for 17 fleeting hours
                                                                        pooped pup

Sorry about writing a novel, I promise, never again, will an entry be this long!
