oh hey there, 2013.

You can't have Christmas without the fattest Christmas Kitty, Tatum.

We hope that you were able to enjoy the holiday season with your loved ones. It can be super tough to get back into the swing of things after so many exciting occasions happening all at once.

I am sad and yet a bit relieved that the holidays are over.

But we did have a great one!

Brian took me on a really fun date to see the lights at Temple Square. We went on one of the busiest and coldest nights. It was a lot of fun. I'm really glad we were able to do it again this year and keep up our tradition. Afterwards, we attempted to drive home but got stuck in a storm. We had to get off the highway... luckily at the exit with the Cheesecake Factory. So we ate dinner and hung out there until around midnight when the highway had cleared up.

We watched a lot of holiday movies and made a lot of holiday treats. One of my favorite nights is when we made gingerbread cookies and watched Home Alone. Brian made this super sweet gingerbread 'stashe.

Another one of our favorite traditions is going to see, 'A Christmas Carol' at the Orem Hale Centre Theatre. We went last year with Brian's parents and it was supposed to become a Campbell Family Tradition... but they bailed. (We'll try to forget about it, lol!) It was a ton of fun. I made an old lady friend (as we always do at these types of occasions. We are friendly old people magnets, which I love.) We also have some inside jokes from this night that I hope we'll never forget. I'd write them... but you wouldn't understand.. and they probably aren't very funny to anyone else other than ourselves....

I wish it had been just an ounce bit lighter in there... it's the only picture we have of us that night.

Ok. So Brian and I kind of got on this crazy "holiday traditions" binge.
Neither one of us had ever been to the lights at Thanksgiving Point... So we thought, "why not?!"

We went up there, paid for it, started driving around, even took a few pictures before noticing that our heater had stopped working.
"hmm... odd."

All of a sudden our car started smoking and overheating! We couldn't pull over for the longest time all the while driving behind super slow people who were simply trying to enjoy the Christmas Lights.

Little did they know that Brian and I were in a
PANIC

All I kept thinking was let's get the heck out of here, I just want to go home. And I mean... Thanksgiving Point is quite a bit aways from Orem. So I had every right to be anxious.

We finally got out. Went to a gas station and put coolant in our car (as we were empty) hoping that would be the problem and fix it. It worked for awhile. We had to stop 5 times on the way home.. but we made it.

Seriously, a blessing.

Double Blessing? Sure. I'll take one. A friend of Brian's family owns a shop and did all the work to fix it in less than 2 hours and it was like $200.

Seriously, a Christmas Miracle.

While we were waiting for our car to get finished. We used one of our fabulous gift cards to go to Red Lobster.

It was the bomb.com

While were sitting there and enjoying our food. Brian looked over to see this little red fish staring at him. I thought "oh, how cute." Than I came over to see it..

Freaking Devil Fish of the Aquarium staring into the depths of Brian's soul.

I named it Luci
...

it's short for Lucifer.

For Christmas Eve, I decided to continue a tradition that my mom had always done for me when I was growing up. I wrapped up a Christmas box that contained:

Christmas Pajamas
Hot Cocoa Packets
Funny Christmas mug (upside down santa is Brian's)
Popcorn and a
Movie

My coworker (Jess) gave me the adorable Owl Mug.
Brian always pokes fun at my obsession with owls..
But seriously they are so cute!

The next morning, Brian duplicated the breakfast he had made me a year ago.
Christmas is very special to us as it is the time that Brian proposed.

He made me super yummy waffles, eggs, bacon and fruit.
He always makes sure everything is aesthetically pleasing
*note* the "fireplace

:D

Here is our tree. So preeeeeeeety!

*note* owl in the tree

his name is Hooters and I love him.

I found Anthony at my Abuela's house. LOL!

After dinner when everything was starting to settle down, Brian and I got my "nephew" Jayden (he is 6) and built an entire alien nation out of play doh. It was a lot of fun and he loved it.

The saddest part about this holiday season is that we had to say "goodbye" to the little children in our class as they are moving up to CTR 5-6. We will miss them terribly. They are such little stinkers. I told them they better all give me hugs every Sunday and NEVER forget me!

We are really excited for what the New Year has in store for us.
We have a lot of aspirations and goals that we would like to fulfill by this time next year.
I guess we'll all just have to 'stay tuned' to see what actually unfolds!
